Rise Park Academy Trust Members and Directors

Our Members and Directors are:

Mr Phil Wailing

Director

Chair of Directors

Appointed: 21/05/2014

I am from an engineering background and worked for a large multinational in the automotive industry.

My journey with Rise Park Academy began in September 2010 when I was appointed as a Local Authority governor in the Infant School. I was elected Chairman of the Infant Governing Body in November 2011 and remained in that role to July 2014.

In January 2014 the outcome of the Junior School Ofsted inspection was known and the Head teacher, myself and two of my governor colleagues decided the best course of action for both the schools and the wider community was to convert to academy and at the same time apply to sponsor the Junior School as a multi academy trust, something that had never been done before.

The Secretary of State approved Rise Park Infant School as an Academy in July 2014 and at the same time gave the school Multi Academy Trust status allowing us to sponsor the Junior School.

Our efforts are now concentrating on getting the Junior School to the same good to outstanding level as the Infant School, something we will achieve in the coming year.

Before leaving work to raise my family, I was Clerk to a Governing Body in a small independent school and was pleased to be able to join the Infant School Governing Body in November 2011, when my son started in Reception. Since then, my daughter has now also started at Rise Park Infants.

I became a Trustee and Director in 2014, when we received permission to bring the two schools together under the Rise Park Academy Trust. I enjoy working closely with the rest of the Directors and Governors to support both the Infant and Junior Schools to become outstanding.

As a former Governor of the Junior School, I became a Director of the Rise Park Academy Trust in September 2014, and a Trustee in September 2015.

I am originally from Bow in the East End of London. My wife and I have three children and eight grandchildren.

I worked in the electrical engineering industry, although I am now retired. I have been a Chair or Member of the Pettit's Safer Neighbourhood Panel for several years and I am also actively involved in a local Boys Junior Football Club, as well as being a league official for more than twenty years.

Mr Nick Bone

Director

Appointed: 30/11/2015

I was previously a governor of Rise Park Infants between June 2013 and December 2015, while also sitting on the Resources Committee, in addition to being the responsible governor for the International Primary Curriculum.  My period as governor coincided with the building of the new reception block in addition to the conversion to the Academy structure and the establishment of the Trust.  In December 2015 I was appointed as a Director of the Trust and also now sit on the Finance committee for both Junior and Infant schools.  I have two children at Rise Park and live locally.  In addition to volunteering as a Director, I am assistant manager of a local children’s football team.

Mrs C Fox

Director

Executive Headteacher

Appointed: 21/05/2014

My original background was in banking and finance, which I left in order to raise my two daughters. For the past twenty years I have worked in Havering as a class teacher, phase leader, Deputy Headteacher and Infant Headteacher, before being appointed to my current post of Executive Headteacher of Rise Park Academy Trust.
I am committed to the children and wider community of our Rise Park Schools, for which our whole staff team strives to provide an optimum educational offer, which includes broad extra-curricular provision, consistently high quality teaching, a supportive and nurturing pastoral environment, as well as excellent resources and technologies which support and progress all of our pupils’ learning experiences.
We are proud to be the first Multi Academy Trust and Department for Education Sponsor in Havering, and look forward to growing and evolving into a further expanded high achieving establishment within the near future.
